Celebrating Mardi Gras with our 1st Food Memory Contest!

As we get ready to have the first Mardi Gras Meanwhile, Back at Cafe Du Monde... show in Los Angeles at Tom Bergin's on Monday, February 11th, I thought it would be great to remember our favorite Fat Tuesday food stories of King Cakes, Hubig's Pies, pots of gumbo and jambalaya, Popeye's Fried Chicken and more.  

To celebrate, we are having our first FOOD STORY CONTEST!  Please post your favorite food memory on the comments section under this post. I will be selecting the "Best Mardi Gras Food Story" on Mardi Gras, Tuesday, February 12th at 8:00 PM Pacific Time and will send the recipient a signed copy of "Meanwhile, Back at Cafe Du Monde... Life Stories About Food coffeetable/cookbook.  Please include your email address so I can get in touch with you.

Featured foodies sharing their stories at the Mardi Gras  show will be Tom Bergin's Executive Chef - Brandon Boudet and Operating Manager - Kat Witt, Lisa Annitti, who inspired the shows with her now famous "Coconut Pie and a Bottle of Wine" story, Actor Lance Spellerberg, who is featured in the book with his story, "Miss New Orleans", Adam Milstein - owner of SOUTH in Santa Monica and featured in the book with his story, "A Bit of SOUTH in Santa Monica", Brigitte Pailet, General Manager of Snookie's Cookies, Chef Das Smith - Founder/Director of Culinary Program at Beverly Hills High School, Melanie Elliott - Actress/Producer/Blogger, Wayne Bennett - Actor and featured in the Meanwhile book "Family Suppers", Peggy Sweeney-McDonald - Creator/Producer of the Meanwhile, Back at Cafe Du Monde... shows and book.  The Emcee will be Chef Jamie Gwen, celebrity chef and four time cookbook author, certified sommelier and host of Cooking and Wine with Chef Jamie Gwen live radio show - KFWB News Talk 980.
